The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was a quick read for me, comparatively.
It only took me twelve days to complete–a minor miracle when you consider that as much as I love to read, I only have time right before I fall asleep.
This is less a review and more a rave about the novel, so if you’re wanting (or afraid there will be) spoilers I’m sorry but I’ll have to disappoint.

Do I recommend this book? OH MY GOSH YES! Is it for the faint of heart? Ehhh, not really.
Even though I’d seen the English version a few years ago, the book still kept me on my toes, gasping and clutching at times for sanity and beauty. I cannot wait to complete the trilogy!

I read the trilogy a few years ago and was just SUCKED right in! I did nothing but read until I was finished all three books. It really is worth the annoyance of subtitles to watch the original movies though. So much better than the hollywood versions.

After the first few pages that are just business related, I was completely hooked! I am excited to read the rest of the series. I haven’t seen the Swedish movies yet…

I agree, the Swedish films are good. I saw them before the English version of the first novel was advertised. That film was fine, though for me redundant. The original films (subtitled so one can hear inflections) are, in fact, powerful. Thanks for the review of the first novel!
