More than 700 pages later…
Fire and Blood was so good! As a former history major, I love Martin’s faux-nonfiction approach.
I wish HBO had started with Aegon the Conqueror, as it was disappointing to be more than halfway through the book before the story coincided with the show.
*That scene* with Aemond’s “oh shit” expression was amazing and while not explicitly in the book, made 1000% sense to include in the show. I mean, the dude’s not an idiot.
Even with the changes to the storyline (which foreshadows more changes in the coming seasons), the show was a decent adaptation.
I’m with all the other red-blooded humans, though, when it comes to wanting more Harwin Strong!!
